So you’re engaged, now what?

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS girlfriend!! This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Holy moley, you have an engagement ring and you’re getting married. It’s so surreal, yet definitely happening, and like it or not, the hours, days, and weeks following that proposal are guaranteed to be a whirlwind. 

There are so many things to think about, so many people to contact, and so much to get done. Don’t be overwhelmed. You have plenty of time to plan the rest of your lives but if you’re like most newly engaged people, you’ll be itching to share the news with all your friends and dive into the actual wedding planning part headfirst.

We already know you are currently putting together a pinterest board of dream dresses (if you haven’t made one already), this is a great place to start and get some ideas flowing. We love to see our brides come in store with an idea of what they are looking for, even if they end up leaving with something totally different (which is super common). 

Now, lets talk about the timeline! We recommed to start dress shopping roughly a year before your big day, I know this sounds crazy right? But, trust us! This will give you plenty of time to make your decision and avoid and rush fees to get your dress here on time, most designers delivery will take around 4-6 months for your dress. Once it has arrived you will need around 8 weeks for alterations, depending on how much you need done to the dress.

Another tip we would like to mention, DON’T BE AFRAID TO SAY YES AT YOUR FIRST STORE!! It is so common in our store that brides will ‘say yes to the dress’ on their first appointment, however a lot of brides will panic even though they know its THE ONE. We wan’t to reassure you that you will try on one dress and you just know it’s yours!! No matter how many dresses you try, you will always go back to this one. So, forget about the FOMO from other bridal stores and stick with your gut. You have a lot of other detals to plan, you don’t have time to waste visiting every bridal store only to end up back to the first dress!
