I’m sure you’ve all heard the term trunk show before, but how many of us actually know what it means? Simply put, a trunk show, is when a designer will lend a store their entire collection for a certain season. Quite often it can be a preview of a line for an upcoming season. The dresses are usually lent to the store by the designer for a limited time, then they are returned to the designer.
So what does a trunk show mean to a bride that is shopping for her gown? It is usually an opportunity to view dresses that a boutique might not normally bring in. If you love a certain designer you might be able to view all of his/her dresses for an entire season in one location. Also many stores may offer a discount or an incentive to purchase during a trunk show.
Overall, trunk shows are a great way to step outside of your comfort zone and try something that might be a little or a lot beyond your norm. You never know you just might find your dream dress when you least expect it. Happy shopping!
